A tennis star in California was killed tragically during the weekend after an alleged drunk driver had beaten him while he had a walk with a friend. He was only 18.
The police of Manhattan Beach say they received a phone call on Sunday at 12:46 pm … What points to a crash with a pedestrian on the 100th block of Sepulveda Boulevard.
According to MBPD, they found the victim on the street next to the vehicle and transported him to a local trauma hospital.
“Despite life -saving efforts by medical staff, the victim succumbed to their injuries,” said MBPD.
The victim was identified as Braun LeviA Loyola High School senior and tennis star.
“We are deeply sad to share the news of the death of Loyola High School Senior, Braun Levi,” said Loyola HS in a statement about Instagram.
“Levi, 18, was a team captain and four-year-old Varsity starter for Loyola Tennis and cemented himself as one of the most experienced student athletes in the program history, who had just won his 4th consecutive competition championship on April 29.”
Levi was also a member of the student Council and Volleyball Team Manager.
“His sweet personality, infectious smile and boundless energy made him a beloved member of the Loyola community,” the school said.
“He was a real man for and with others, and we will miss him very much. We love you, Braun. 𝐂𝟒𝐋 🤍🕊️.”
As you would expect, many people posted sincere messages on social media, including former NFL QB Matt LeinartThat Braun’s photo on his IG story shared with the caption, “Rip.”
MBPD says that the driver of the vehicle at the crash, 33-year-old Jenia -Riemwas arrested and booked for suspicion of Dui. She could also be confronted with extra costs with regard to the death of Levi.
