Airbnb to offer internal chefs and massages in a new-look app

Airbnb says that users can now book luxury services such as personal trainers, massages and chefs on his re -designed app, while it continues to expand further than the core rental companies in the short term.

“People choose hotels for their services. People choose Airbnbs for the space … Now we give you the best of both worlds”, CEO of the company Brian Chesky said in a statement.

It comes only a few weeks after the company indicates that bookings in the US can delay, because President Trump’s unpredictable trade policy struck the consumer feeling.

Despite the organization of more than two billion guests since the launch in 2008, Airbnb has also confronted with challenges with some cities in recent years Prohibition in the short term.

The new services of Airbnb will initially be available in 260 cities, whereby the company says that they will cost less than $ 50 (£ 37.57).

The luxury range, including spa treatments, photographers and make -up artists, can also be booked by people who do not stay in Airbnbs.

The renewed app from the company also contains a tab updated experiences, with which users can book tailor -made tours and activities. That service was first launched in 2016.

The new hotel-like functions reflect the changing needs of tourists, told Gary Bowerman, director of the travel marketing company Check-in Asia at the BBC.

“Travelers now think much more about how they can adjust the journey for themselves, not only the actual functional parts of how they get there and where they are.”

Another feature of the new app is a tab Originals that offers exclusive experiences around the world.

This includes playing beach volleyball in Rio de Janeiro with Olympian Carol Solberg or spending a Sunday with the National Football League -Superster Patrick Mahomes.

Tailor-made options such as these are part of a wider trend while tourists are looking for off-the-slumped pad experiences, said luxury travel advisor Anastasia Oriordan.

“There are so many people who have traveled and have done so many things that the benchmark or the goal post for unique experiences constantly moving.”
