Diddy-Jury hears opening comments when the process of sexual trade starts

Public Prosecutors opened their case by accusing Hip -Hop Mogul Sean “Diddy” combs of the use of fame and violence to sexually abuse women, while the rapper’s lawyers defended his “Swinger” lifestyle and rejected claims for sex trade.

The 55-year-old has not guilty of charges, including racketeering, sex trade and transport to enter into prostitution.

After opening statements on Monday, the court heard of the first witnesses of public prosecutors, including a guard from a hotel where Mr. Combs can be seen in a now viral video that his ex-girlfriend beats in 2016.

His testimony was followed by a man who said that Mr. Combs abused his ex-girlfriend during paid sexual encounters with the couple.

After having been a panel of 12 jury members and six points on Monday morning, the lawyers of the government and Mr. Combs outlined their affairs.

Public Prosecutor Emily Johnson accused Mr Combs of the use of his celebrity status and a “loyal” inner circle of employees to sexually abuse women and run a criminal company.

She concentrated on the two central victims in the case – the former girlfriend of Mr. Combs, Cassandra Ventura, and another publicly former girlfriend.

Public Prosecutors claimed that Mr. Combs used violence and threatened the music career of Mrs. Ventura to force her to perform non-consensual, humiliating sexual acts with male prostitutes during so-called “freak-offs” filmed by MR Combs.

The suspect “had the power to ruin her life,” said Johnson about Mrs. Ventura.

While officers of justice described the explicit details of the allegations against Mr. Combs, he was in a gray sweater and pants with an empty look and his hands folded on his lap.

In the heart of the government’s case is a surveillance video that shows that Mr Combs are beating Mrs. Ventura and drag her in 2016 in a hotel in a hotel in a hotel in Los Angeles.

Lawyers for Mr. Combs said that the video was proof of the “poor” character of Mr. Combs, but not of a larger criminal company. “Domestic violence is not sex trade,” said Teny Geragos, Mr Combs’s lawyer.

Mrs. Geragos said that Mr. Combs has a “bit of another sex life” – and shifted the focus to the women who accuse him and called them “capable, strong women” who chose to stay with the rapper.

They had “the freedom to make the choices they made,” Mrs Geragos argued.

The first witness of the prosecutors, a former guard called Israel Florez, worked in the hotel, the site of the Nu-Virale security video that Mr Combs demonstrated who attacked his ex-girlfriend. The clip, which CNN released last year, was played before jury members on Monday.

Mr. Florez told jury members that morning at the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles on March 5, 2016, he received a phone call about a “woman in need” on the sixth floor.

He said he had found Mr. Combs there in a towel, on a chair with a “diabolical” look on his face and a broken vase on the floor. Mrs. Ventura was sinking in the corner with her face covered, the Lord Florez said.

Mr. Florez said prosecutors that Mrs. Ventura kept saying she wanted to leave, but Mr. Combs told her that she couldn’t.

He testified that Mrs. Ventura had a purple eye, but did not want to call the police and eventually left in a black SUV with a driver of seven feet (2.1 meters).

Mr. Florez claimed that Mr Combs later, to “let it go”, tried to give him a prop cash, but he refused.

Lawyers for Mr. Combs tried to poke gaps in Mr Florez’s claims and asked why he had not included any certain details – such as the purple eye of Mrs. Ventura – in an incident report that he subsequently submitted.

His testimony was followed by Daniel Phillip, a former manager of male strippers, who said he met Mr Combs and Mrs. Ventura after his boss asked him to fill in as Stripper for a bachelor party.

But, Mr. Phillip said, he was greeted in a hotel instead by Mrs. Ventura, who told him it was her birthday and her husband wanted to give her a gift.

Mr. Phillip told the court that he would have sex several times with Mrs. Ventura – meetings that already lasted 10 hours, sometimes under the influence of drugs – while Mr. Combs looked and filmed.

He claimed that he had witnessed Mr. Combs, Mrs. Ventura attacked at least twice, including once when he dragged her through her hair while she shouted “I’m sorry”. Mr. Combs then returned to the room with Mrs. Ventura and asked the two to have sex for him again, Mr Phillip said.

“I was shocked,” he said. “It came out of nowhere. I was terrified.”

Mr. Phillip claimed in the stands that he did not call the police for fear that Mr. Combs was “someone with unlimited power” and that he could “lose his life” for reporting it.

The test is planned to continue on Tuesday when Mrs Ventura is expected to testify.

At the busy courthouse Monday, the children of Combs – including his daughters – were seen hand in their hands. His mother was also photographed and walked out of the court with his publicist.
