Former FBI director James Comey is examined by the secret service after he had shared participation and subsequently removed a social media post, the Republicans claimed that it was an incentive for violence against President Donald Trump.
Comey posted a photo of sea shells on Instagram who spelled the songs “8647”, which he caption: “Cool Shell Formation on My Beach Walk.”
The number 86 is a hose term whose definitions include ‘to’ or ‘reject’, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, which also notices that it was more recently used as a term that means ‘kill’.
Trump is the 47th American president. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi mentioned that the message was a call for the murder of Trump, but Comey said he opposed violence.
In a post in X, spokesperson for the Secret Service Anthony Guglielmi said: “We strongly investigate everything that can be considered a potential threat to our protectors.
“We are aware of the messages on social media of the former FBI director and we take rhetoric like this very seriously. Furthermore, comments do not give on protective intelligence.”
Comey removed the Instagram post and said in a follow-up that he “accepted (the sea shells) were a political message”.
“I did not realize that some people associate those figures with violence,” he added. “It never came up with me, but I resist violence of any kind, so I took the mail off.”
Trump survived two murder attempts last year.
The current FBI director Kash Patel responded to social media and said that the agency “was” aware of the recent social media post of former FBI director James Comey, focused on President Trump “.
“We are in communication with the secret service and director Curran. Primary jurisdiction is about these matters (secret service) and we, the FBI, will offer all the necessary support.”
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Submit X: “Chattered former FBI director James Comey just called for the murder of Trump.”
She said her department and the secret service would investigate the case.
Deputy Staff Chef of the White House, Dan Scavino, placed on X and accused Comey of “A plea for bad actors/terrorists to kill the potus while they travel internationally”, referring to the current tour of the Midden -Oost.
The eldest son of the president, Donald Trump JR, also responded to X and noticed: “James Comey Causal (sic) called on my father to be killed.”
Comey served as director of the FBI between 2013-17.
He had a tumultuous term of office that supervised the controversial investigation into the e-mail of the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, just a few weeks before the 2016 elections that she lost to Trump.
He was fired by Trump in the midst of an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 elections.
