Big Joe Mourns for the loss of the woman he called his world – his mother, Marie Del-Carmen Cartagenadied.
The rapper placed a tribute on social media on Saturday with a sincere message and a series of photos in honor of her life.

He wrote … “This is a real, peace in peace to the woman who brought me into this world. She didn’t have much, but she gave us everything.”
Joe thought about the strength and dedication of his mother to her family and community. He says that she chose to continue living in the projects for years, despite his financial success, because of her deep love for her neighbors.

In the emotional post, Joe says she died of a ‘broken heart’. Her death comes months after Her husband, Ernesto died in February. “My father wanted her with him. I tried everything that is humanly possible,” wrote Joe.
He ended the post with a powerful promise … “Mommy until I see you again, you were my world, my heart, my everything. I will continue to make you proud.”

Over the years, Fat Joe has spoken about his close relationship with his mother. In January he celebrated her birthday by calling herself a “Mama’s boy” and praising her because she was a warrior who defeated cancer and stood him through each chapter of his life.
