The website of Nagi Maehashi Eats Food Eats attracted a monthly readers of 45 million page views.

Two cookbook authors have Tiktok -Influencer Brooke Bellamy accused of copying their recipes.

Nagi Maehashi, the Australian founder of Popular Food website reception, said that the cookbook of Mrs. Bellamy contains recipes with “word-for-word agreements with mine”.

Mrs. Maehashi said that a reader pointed to what she described as “remarkable similarities” between her caramel slice recipe and that in Mrs. Bellamy’s best cookbook Bak with Brooki.

She said that she later also discovered similarities between her Baklava recipe and that of Mrs. Bellamy, and offered a comparison of a side-on-side in a statement about Receportin Eats.

Mrs. Maehashi is the author of two cookbooks and her website, which she started in 2014, attracts a monthly readers of 45 million page views.

Mrs. Bellamy is the owner of three Brooki Bakehouse locations, all in Queensland, which were set up in 2022. She is also a popular baker on Tiktok with two million followers.

Mrs. Maehashi said she had contacted the publisher of Mrs. Bellamy, Penguin Random House Australia, and added that they “brought in lawyers and resort to what felt me ​​legal intimidation”.

“It feels like a blatant exploitation of my work. To see them plagiarism and used in a book for profit, without permission and without credit, not only feels unfair,” she added.

Mrs. Maehashi has retained her own legal adviser and has written both MS Bellamy and Penguin.

Bake with Brooki was published in October 2024 and has since sold a $ 4.6 million (£ 2.1 million; $ 2.9) in copies.

Penguin and Mrs. Bellamy have both strongly denied the accusations, whereby the publisher has responded to Mrs. Maehashi that confirms: “The recipes in the BWB book were written by Brooke Bellamy”.

Despite not maintaining misconduct, Mrs. Bellamy said they offered to remove the recipes from future reprints “to prevent further worsening”, and that this was “quickly” communicated to Mrs. Maehashi.

She added that she had “a lot of respect for Nagi”, but stood with her recipes in a series of Instagram stories.

“Recipe development in today’s world is dressed in inspiration from other chefs, cookbook authors, food bloggers and content makers,” she said, adding that the “willingness to share receivers” is what she likes about baking.

Both Maehashis and the cookbooks of Mrs. Bellamy have been nominated for this year’s Australian Book Industry Awards.

Mrs. McKENNEY, who authors’ Baking website, accused Mrs. Bellamy of copying her vanilla cake recipe, which is included in the MS Bellamy and YouTube Channel cookbook.

“Original makers of recipes that do the work to develop and test recipes deserve credit – especially in a best -selling cookbook,” wrote Mrs. McKenny on Instagram.
