Cassie Ventura has completed four consecutive days of explosive testimonies in the criminal process of her ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The singer told the breakdown in Sobs and told a court in New York on Tuesday that she would return a legal regulation of $ 20 million from the Rapmogul as it meant that he had never participated in his “humiliating” drug-oriented sex parties, referred to as “freak-offs”.
Mrs. Ventura, the stars witness of the government, was confronted with intense interrogation of both legal teams about the decade she took out with combs.
Combs is confronted with charges of racketeering, sex trade and transport to enter into prostitution and can undergo life in prison. He has not argued guilty and denied the accusations.
The testimony of Mrs. Ventura unveiled graphic details about her sex life with the rapper, the physical violence that she reportedly endured of him and the posse that she said helped with his crimes.
She also said that after submitting a lawsuit against him in November 2023, including many of those allegations, he gave her a settlement of $ 20 million.
The settlement, which came only one day after the case came, was public knowledge, but the number was previously unknown. The defense tried to hammer the financial incentives for the accusations of Mrs. Ventura during their cross research of her testimony, which continued on Thursday and Friday all day.
Combs’ lawyer Anna Estevao seemed to imply that Mrs. Ventura was tied up for cash before she submitted her lawsuit. For example, the singer had just moved to her parents with her husband and children.
Mrs. Ventura pushed back against this characterization and later shared that she would exchange it all for a life free of the “freak offs”, of which she said she caused her physical injuries, would sometimes continue for days and suppressed her career as a singer.
“I would have freedom of choice and autonomy,” she said.
The legal team of Combs also showed the jury dozens of messages between the couple from every phase of their relationship, with the argument that their dynamics were sometimes toxic, but not criminal.
The defense also offered a final bomb minutes before Mrs. Ventura would leave the position on Friday: the singer arranged a different legal arrangement for $ 10 million that was related to her claims against the Rapmogul.
Mrs. Ventura told the court that she expects to receive around $ 10 million from the Intercontinental Hotel.
The settlement relates to an incident at the Intercontinental in Los Angeles in 2016, in which viral security images showed that combs were struck Mrs. Ventura, kick and drag in a corridor. That images were played in detail this week in the court and is one of the most important evidence in the trial.
Although the day almost ended, the prosecution pressed in two more witnesses before the court was suspected. One of them was Dawn Richard, a singer in the Danity Kane group – formed on Diddy’s show on MTV who made the band – and last year had a lawsuit that accused him of physical abuse and withholds her income.
Mrs. Richard testified about an incident in 2009, when she said she saw Combs Assault Mrs Ventura in his mansion in Los Angeles.
“She fell down,” Mrs. Richard told court. “She was in the fetus position.”
After the incident, she said that Combs took her aside and told her what she saw was “passion” and that where he comes from, “people are missing” when they talk.
The American Homeland Security Special Agent Yasin Binda also took the position and told the court about the money, drugs and baby oil that were seized from the rapper’s hotel room when he was arrested in New York.
More testimonies are expected from the witnesses that will be called up by officers next week. The Lower Manhattan Court has been a media circus since the beginning of the process, with spectators who gather in large numbers and camp at night to catch a glimpse of the music magnate, his family and the celebrities that witnesses.
