Harvard sues the Trump administration after it is the ability of the university to register international students, to escalate a dispute between the White House and one of America’s most prestigious institutions.

In the lawsuit in Boston, the university called the actions of the administration a “blatant violation” of the law.

It comes a day after civil servants from the Department of Homeland Security said they would withdraw Harvard’s access into student visa programs.

The Trump government says that Harvard has not done enough to combat anti -Semitism and change its recruitment and admission practices – accusations that the university has greatly refused.

“We condemn this illegal and unjustified action,” said Harvard President Alan Garber in a letter.

“The withdrawal continues a series of government actions to take revenge on Harvard for our refusal to transfer our academic independence and to submit to the illegal statement of the federal government about control over our curriculum, our faculty and our student body.”

The university would also request a temporary restraining ban, he added.
