Jill SobuleFamous for her song ‘I Kissed A Girl’ from 1995 is dead, TMZ has confirmed.
The singer/songwriter died on Thursday in a house fire in Minneapolis, Minnesota, her manager, John PorterTMZ told.
“Jill Sobule was a power of nature and human rights lawyer whose music is woven into our culture,” he said in the statement. “I had so much fun working with her. Today I lost a customer and a friend. I hope that her music, memory and legacy will continue to live and inspire others.”
Jill also played “supermodel” from the hit film “Clueless” in the lead role Alicia Silverstone” Paul Rudd” Brittany Murphy” Donald Faison” Breckin Meyer And Stacey Dash.
She had planned a show for Friday evening at the Tuft Theater by Swallow Hill Music in Denver, her hometown.
She released 12 albums during a career of three decades in Hollywood … And she created a much -praised autobiographical musical, “F *** 7th Grade.” Jill also did the theme song for the Nickelodeon show “Unfabulous.”
There will be a formal memorial that her life and legacy will be celebrating later this summer, per John.
She is survived by her brother and sister -in -law, James And Mary Ellen Sobuleand her beloved nephews, Ian Matthew And Robert and Robert’s wife Irina. She is also survived by countless loved one and countless friends.
Jill was 66.
