Israel hits Houthi goals in Yemen a day after rocket attack near the airport

The army of Israel says that the Houthi goals in Yemen has aimed in response to the rocket launch of the group at the Israeli airport Ben Gurion the previous day.

The IDF said it was attacking sites that, according to him, served as a “central stock source for the Houthis” in the Hudaydah port, as well as the Bajil Cement Factory east of the city of Hudaydah.

After Sunday’s airport strike, the Houthis said that they would “impose an extensive air blockade” on Israel by focusing on airports in response to Israel’s plans to expand the activities in Gaza.

The group supported by Iran said that 21 people were injured in Monday’s attack and described it as a joint raid of “US-Israeli aggression”. The US denied involvement.

The IDF said that his Monday strikes “were performed precisely, with measures taken to reduce damage to the harbor damage”.

It claimed that the Bajil factory functioned as a “significant economic source” and was used by the group to construct tunnels and infrastructure, while the port locations were used “for the transfer of Iranian weapons”.

The port is the second largest in the Red Sea and the access point for around 80% of Yemen food imports.

Several residents told Reuters News Agency that more than 10 strikes were aimed at Hudaydah Port and the Al-Salakhanah and Al-Hawak areas in the city, while four more focused on the cement factory.

A spokesperson for the Houthi-Run Ministerie of Health, Anes al-Astbahi, said that at least 21 people were injured in the attack.

The Houthis blamed the US and Israel for the attack. An American defense officer told the AFP press agency that their troops “did not participate in the Israeli strikes on Yemen today”.

The rocket shot on Sunday morning to Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, landed next to an access road near the main terminal. Four people were injured by the explosion, with two more injured on their way to a hiding place, said Israeli emergency services.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, endangered retribution and said, “We have attacked in the past, we will attack in the future.”

Iran said that the airport attack was an “independent decision” by the Yemeni group.

The US also launches air strikes against Houthi goals in Yemen.

The government of former US President Joe Biden approved American strikes on the Houthis, which continued under Donald Trump, the current president.

Last month the Houthis said At least 68 African migrants were killed in an American air raid on a detention center In the northwest of Yemen.
