John Brenkus -The founder and host of ESPN’s Emmy-winning “Sport Science” show-is died at 54 years old.
The lovers of Brenkus said on Sunday evening in a statement that he died on Saturday after a fight with depression.
“His deeply sad family and friends are currently asking for privacy,” was the explanation, “and encourages everyone struggling with depression to seek help.”
Brenkus, who graduated from the Univ. From Virginia, created “Sport Science”, a show that delved into all the Minutia that was needed to have a world -class athletes perform at Elite levels, early 2000.
Initially the program on FOX Sports Network … But it became worldwide popularity after his move to ESPN.
Many of his former colleagues mourn his death on Sunday – including Adam SketchHe wrote in a post on X: “This is incredibly sad. John was so good at what he did. Highest condolences with his family and friends. Rest in Peace, John.”

Brenkus had previously been open about his problems with mental health … Marcellus Wiley A few years ago he was once ready to die from suicide, but was saved by his dog. He said he would see to several psychologists and therapists, eventually helped him to get through his lows.
Wiley remembered Brenkus on X by writing “rip @johnbrenkus_” … with prayer hands and heart emojis.
