Paraglider survives a casual flight of 8000 meters high high high

A Chinese paraglider has survived that he has accidentally driven 8,500 m (27,800 ft) in the air above north -western China reports the state media.

Peng Yujiang, 55, tested new equipment at 3000 meters above sea level, over the Qilian mountains, when a rare Updraft or air flow was known as a “cloud” sucking it about 5000 meters higher in a cloud formation.

Saturday’s events were filmed on a camera that was mounted on Mr Peng’s glider and the images became viral after he was posted on Douyin, China’s version of Tiktok.

It showed that Mr Peng was holding the glider’s checks, with his face and much of his body covered with ice crystals.

“It was frightening … everything was white. I couldn’t see any direction. I wouldn’t have known without the compass which way I went. I thought I straightened, but in reality I was playing,” he told the Chinese Media Group.

Mr Peng barely survived death because the oxygen levels are thin at that height, which is slightly lower than the 8,849m peak of Mount Everest. Temperatures can also fall to -40C.

“I wanted to come down quickly, but I just couldn’t. I was lifted higher and higher until I was in the cloud,” he said.

Mr. Peng, who paraglid for four and a half years, said that he might have lost consciousness during his origins, and added that the most frightening part of his test tried to regain control of the glider while he was spirited in the air.

The Chinese authorities investigate the incident and Mr Peng was suspended for six months because the flight was unauthorized, the state reported Global Times.

Peng was not going to fly that day and only tested the fit and comfort of his parachute on the floor, said Global Times.

Strong wind, however, lifted him off the ground and became even stronger until he came across the Updraft that shot him in the clouds.
