JD Vance did not arrive at the Vatican with empty hands … The vice-president brought a modified Chicago Bears sweater Pope Leo XIV” With the name of the Holy Father!
Vance presented the new Pope with the special gift during their meeting at the Apostolic Palace on Monday … Leo XIV, a resident of Chicago, with the sweater of his hometown team.
“So this is of course a Chicago Bears sweater,” the VP said the Pope.
“As you can probably imagine, the people of the United States are very enthusiastic about you.”
And it is not just an old sweater from the rack … it has been adjusted! The nameplate is “Pope Leo” … and instead of a song there is a Roman figure, “XIV.”
Vice-president JD Vance met Pope Leo XIV in the Vatican and gave the Pontiff born in Chicago a Chicago Bears sweater with his name and the song “XIV” on Monday. State Secretary Marco Rubio and Vance’s wife, Usha, also met the Pope.

VANCE also brought the Pope a letter from President Donald Trump and first lady Melania TrumpInvite Pope Leo XIV to visit the United States.
“I know you have many things to do, but I wanted me to give you that letter,” laughed Vance.
Potus was excited when Leo XIV became Pope on 8 May and released an explanation that called it an honor to witness the historic moment.
“Congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who was just called Pope,” wrote Trump on social media.
“It is such an honor to realize that he is the first American pope. What excitement and what a great honor for our country.”
“I look forward to meeting Pope Leo XIV. It will be a very meaningful moment!”
