Heavy break for Reds Rookie Tyler Callihan … he hit his arm as he tried to make a dive catch on Monday evening – and video of the piece is hard to watch.
The horrible scene unfolded in the third inning of Cincinnati’s matchup with the Braves in Truist Park in Atlanta … When Matt Olson shot a deep flying ball to the left field.
#REDS Tyler Callihan almost made a great game. Unfortunately he left the game injured.

Callihan sprinted out of his position to detect it … And while he was initially able to secure it – he jumped free after he brought his arm against a nearby wall.
Trainers quickly ran out to take care of the 24-year-old … and the game was paused while they helped him off the field.
Callihan was eventually diagnosed with a broken forearm -and Cincinnati posted late on the X page on the X page on Monday evening, they wish him ‘a quick recovery’.

To make even worse, Olson circled the base for a two-run, Homer in the park after Callihan dropped the ball … and the Braves eventually won 4-0.
Cincy will get another crack on Tuesday afternoon at the Braves in Game 2 of their series … Although it will take at least a few months before Callihan gets his salvation.
Get well soon !!
