Actress and comedian Ruth BuzziThe best known for the leading role in the NBC Variety Sketch Comedy Show “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-in” died.
Ruth’s official Facebook page shared the news of her death early on Friday morning and announced that she died peacefully in her sleep at home in Texas in Hospice Care on Thursday.
She was diagnosed with Alzheimer in 2012 and was disabled from a stroke in 2022, who her husband, Kent Perkinsconfirmed at that time.
Almost 24 hours before her death was announced, a message shared on her Facebook page with a message from Ruth, who wanted fans to know how much they mean for her. He wrote … “She wants you to know that she probably enjoyed doing those shows than you had watched them.”
He also said that she would no longer post alone because of “health problems” and encouraged fans to post photos with her and happy memories of her viewing for her.
Ruth was through and through an artist and landed her first job in the show business at the age of 19 … who grew into a career for a decades.
She had quite a CV, performed in various Broadway shows and landed countless voice and on the screen on TV and film. Some of her credits are “Days of Our Lives”, “The Carol Burnett Show”, “Alvin and the Chipmunks”, “The Berenstain Bears,” “The Pink Panther” and 1976’s “Freaky Friday”.
Of course her most important claim to fame was her performances on ‘Laugh-in’ … which shot her in superstars. A recurring role was Gladys Ormphby, an eccentric woman who was on a park bench that dealt with different guests.
Her last credit was a leading role in the psychological drama ‘One Month Out’ of 2021, in which her husband also had a role.
She broke her pension for the role of working with the writer and director of the project, John Schneider.
Ruth was 88.
