Sherri Papini picks up the lies she has told in her alleged kidnapping … She says she can’t be the only person who has ever filmed, and her business is deeper than most people realize.
TMZ has obtained a clip from the upcoming documentary “Sherri Papini: trapped in the lie” … And she asks the audience: “Did you never lie? Have you ever lied in your existing history? And is that lies then blown up and broadcast around the world?”
Sherri became missing for three weeks in 2016 … Back on the side of a road in California after she claimed that her abductors let her go.
She claimed that two Spanish women held her imprisoned for weeks … Wearing masks to hide their faces from her, turning her on a wall and burning her with the word ‘Exodus’.
Sherri was arrested in March 2022 … and was eventually promised to one count of making false statements and one count of postal fraud. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison, but was released after serving less than a year.
Papini publicly admitted that the whole kidnapping was a hoax at her condemnation hearing … but it seems that she is now completely falling back – in the clip she says: “It is so much more complex than to point the finger and say that you are a liar and I wish more than everything I could have been more truthful.”
ID produced the documentary and they interviewed a bunch of people – including some people who know Sherri, and others who make doubts about her claims – and the clip contains a psychologist trying to understand Sherri’s statements.
“Sherri Papini: Caught in De Luugen” comes out as an event of two nights 26 May and 27 May on ID … and it will also be available to stream at HBO Max.
