Kohli has long been considered one of the four batting greats of his era, next to the English Joe Root, Steve Smith van Australia and Kane Williamson from New Zealand, and scored 30 tests.
But his most recent Testton, 100 not in the first test against Australia in November, was his first in 15 innings for 16 months.
Since January 2020, only three tons have entered 39 tests. He is an average of 30.72 at that time.
