What do Canadians think of Carney’s meeting with Trump?

Prime Minister Mark Carney met the American President Donald Trump in the White House on Tuesday and repeated that Canada is “not for sale” because the president increased the prospect that the country became the 51st US state.

Carney won the elections last month and promised to “stand up” to Trump, who has imposed rates on some Canadian products and sometimes talks about annexing the country.

The BBC spoke with Canadians from all over the country in Montreal, in the province of Quebec, to hear their thoughts about how Carney performed with his counterpart and whether the outcome will have a lasting impact.
