Manchester, England – Pep Guardiola marked Jack Grealish “An incredible human being” after the midfielder dedicated his goal against Leicester City to his brother to the 25th anniversary of his passage.
Grealish scored his first Premier League Target from December 2023 as a city Beat Leicester 2-0 At the Etihad stadium on Wednesday.
The game was played on the anniversary of his brother’s death and then a 29-year-old published on the social media: “Always with me, especially this day. That was for you, Keelan.”
Keelan had only nine months old when he died in April 2000 when Jack had only four.
“Jack is an incredible human being,” Guardiola said.
“I didn’t know (about the anniversary). I can’t imagine how hard it can be for mum and dad, his sister and the whole family.
“It’s good to remember this day. I’m sure they remember every day. He scored a goal and made a good game.”
Grealish was moved in from its usual position on the left and opened scoring after two minutes.
It was his first league goal of the season after the frustrating campaign was due to injuries and loss of form.
“He likes to play in the middle,” Guardiola added.
“He’s a man who played for free.
The defeat leaves Leicester rooted at the descent, 12 security points, the remaining eight games.
“The most important thing for me is that I will stay on it and evaluate games and be the best manager I can be in this situation,” said manager Ruud van Nistelrroy. “This is my work, in an extremely difficult moment. I expect to be the first to react in a good way.”
