National Association’s National Team captain Lindsey Heaps Wagon Trinity Rodman When returning to an international duty after an eight -month absence of injury, she described Washington Spirit Play “very unique” talent in and off the field.
Rodman has been returning for the first time since USWT has helped win the gold medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, scoring three goals for the team before seeing time outside the international duty for repeating and related issues.
In the repetition of the Olympic finals, USnt will face Brazil on Saturday at the Sofi stadium in Inglewood, California, before organizing South American giants three days later in PayPal Park in San Jose, California.
“To come back with the injuries she should have, but to train as if she had been here in the last eight months, it’s really exciting for me,” Heaps said at a press conference on Wednesday.
“And I think that as a midfielder with one of our attacking players, it makes it much easier for us, because if you have doubts, you can get the ball into space for these people and go to any defense and almost make it impossible to win the ball for them.
“I think they are such an attacking threat and incredible special qualities that everyone contains. It is clear that Trin, you know, has his own and is very unique in the type of player he is. So, so happy that her back has.”
Heaps continued by praising Rodman for her contribution to the team from the field and brought younger players to the aspect of trust and leadership.
Rodman is the only member of the self -proclaimed front line “Triple espresso” in the current list with Sophia Wilson (formerly Smith) on maternity leave after recently announcement of her pregnancy and Mallory swanson on personal holiday from the club and the country since January.
“I’m very, very glad to have Trin back. I think we’re all,” Heaps added. “I think her presence in and outside the field is fair, it’s different.
“You get another voice and get another enthusiastic voice, someone who brings energy both in and off the field, and that’s something you want. That’s something that domino effect and helps us.
“You have a lot of new young players. They want to see it and want to feel it. And she’s young as if they saw it first hand from someone like the one who also brings a lot of confidence, which is so crucial in this environment.”
Uswtt and Orlando Pride defender Emily Sams later he added that it would be nice to have Rodman in the same team then Ns period and play -off.
