The UK almost certain hosted the World Cup 2035 after President FIFA Gianni Infantino described his interest as “one valid offer” for these finals.
The football associations of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales announced last month that in 10 years it would submit a joint speech interest in the final hosting.
The deadline for the initial manifestations of interest went through Monday and although Spain’s President Rafael Louzan announced last week to offer his country with Portugal and Morocco, Infantino indicated that the British offer was considered.
“We got one offer for 2031 and one offer – one valid offer I should add – for 2035,” he said at the UEFA Congress in Belgrade.
“Offer 2035 is from Europe from home nations.”
The Football Association responded on Thursday to the Revelation of Infantin, while CEO Mark Bullingham revealed England “Honor” on a view on the country that helps host the first World Cup finals because the men’s team was winning in 1966.
“We are an honor for us that we are the only candidate for the FIFA 2035 World Cup. Organizing the First World Cup of FIFA since 1966 with our home nation partners will be very special.
“Hard work is now starting to build the best possible offer by the end of the year.”
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has already made an offer and added that the World Cup in the UK would be a “monumental moment”.
He said, “Football is and will always be the core of our country’s identity. Whether we watch TV, playing on weekends like me, or simply enjoy the soaking of the atmosphere in the pub, connecting communities as little.
“This pride was in full display when England hosted the female euro UEFA 2022. Not only did it show the best of our nation the world, but inspired the generation of girls to play, all while strengthening the economy.
“The World Cup FIFA 2035 on the domestic lawn would be another monumental moment in our sporting history, growth management and leaving a permanent legacy. The intention of FA is to offer full support of my government.”
