Orioles activate All-Star SS Gunnar Henderson from IL


Baltimore Orioles All-Star Shortstop Gunnar Henderson was activated from a 10 -day injured list and debut on Friday evening in the season against KANSAS CITY ROYALS.

Henderson was pushed out by the right intercostal trunk and missed the first seven games of the big league campaign.

The 23 -year -old Henderson will lead and play a shortstop against Royals host.

Henderson was injured during the spring training game 27 February. Last season he was the fourth in the American League MVP voting when he detonated 0.281 and gathered his career bests 37 Homer and 92 RBI.

Henderson completed the rehabilitation stint of five games on Wednesday in Triple-A Norfolk. He detonated 0.263 (5 to 19) with two homery and four RBI and played four games on Shortstop and one as a designated Hitter. He made three mistakes.

“I think everyone is looking forward to Gunnar will be back in the team,” Baltimore Brandon Hyde said on Thursday. “Rehab really went really, really well. I talked to him a few days ago, feeling a great rocking bat. The timing came, especially in the last few days. He had to get there and get some repetition defensive and get some games, and all went well.”

Baltimore Outfielder option Dylan Carlson Triple-A Norfolk open instead of the list. The 26 -year -old man was 0: 4 with during and RBI in two games this season.
