Lando Norris has completed his latest practice on the Japanese Grand Prix when the grass of the Suzuka circuit continued to be worried about the qualification.
The Norris championship leader tried to control his car for most of the sessions, but gave time 1: 27,965 to knock out his team mclaren Oscar Piastri just a few hundredths of a second.
The only driver who seems to have a pace to challenge McLarens at the position of the pole in the qualification, Live on Sky Sports F1 at 7 o’clockis George Russell, who was a tenth of a second from Norris for Mercedes.
Ferrari stayed out of pace with Charles Lecler fourth and Lewis Hamilton sixth, with a pair of both sides by half a second back from McLarens.
The ruling world champion Max Verstappen divided Ferraris into the fifth, but in the final stages of the sessions he told a team radio that his Red Bull was “all over the shop”.
The new teammate Yuki Tsunod Verstappen was three tenths of a second from the Dutchman in the ninth, with Williams Alex Albon and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly in front of him.
Tsunoda debuts the debut of Red Bull after he was promoted from Junior Squad Racing Bulls in a remarkable switch with Liam Lawson just two races in the season.
However, the complete competitive image was left unclear, as much of the field was prevented from completing their final qualifying simulations when the second red red flag was forced by a session with the remaining seven minutes.
A similar delay length occurred in the early stages of the session for the same reason, after two red flags in the second practice on Friday.
The FIA interrupted the grass and dampened it before the session in an effort to overcome the problem, but the possibility of further interruption in the qualification of the states now, with more serious potential consequences for the Sunday race.
