Thomas Muller will leave Bayern Munich after 25 years on the Bundesliga giant when his contract expires this summer.

The 35 -year -old midfielder joined the Bayern ranks in 2000 before debuting in 2008, where he would start a career that would see him to last for 17 years in the club, with 743 performances and scoring 247 goals.

Muller also won 33 awards in Bayern, including 12 Bundesliga titles, most of the player in the German best flight and two champions.

“However, the club consciously decided not to negotiate a new contract with me for the next season. Although it was not in line with my personal wishes, it is important that the club follows its beliefs. I respect this step that the Council and Supervisory Board certainly did not take.”

Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said in the club statement: “The most important thing is that we have found mutual solutions. Thomas Müller is one of the greatest personalities of the players created by this club, and therefore it was important to find a fair and friendly agreement for us.

“Now we want to cooperate to ensure that this incredible career is crowned hopefully three more trophies. There are few players that fans are still in their career. Thomas Müller will be one of them.”

Muller also thanked the fans for helping the “Incredible Journey” gathering and gaining their support back at the end of this season.

Bayern is nine points without defense of Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the league, while the head coach Vincent company plays the club closer to 34.
