Gordon Elliott won Hurdle Turners Mersey Noties’ for the fourth straight year because the policy of honesty flew home late to break the heart of Regent’s Stroll in Aintree.

The highly acclaimed six -year -old bravely defeated Henry de Bromhead Divin and Willie Mullins’ Funiculi Funicula to the long Aintree home, but had no answer to the late honesty.
Coincidence 5/1 ended in full run to hit half the length, while the Regent’s walk was detained by Funiculi Funicula for a second.
Elliott – who struck 12 months ago with BrighterDaYSaDAd – he said, “He is very well named, he is a hard horse with a very good approach.
“I would say that he probably went as fast as he did all the way, so we are totally pleased with him.

“Next year will certainly go further, his game is his game, as you saw.
“I don’t know if he goes over the fences or remains an obstacle, today we like it.”
Elliott was formerly a coach of Caldwell Potter before it was sold by his new connection, including Sir Alex Ferguson.
On this occasion, Ferguson’s owned walk was defeated in second place and both shared a hug in the Paddock.
“Sir Alex loves the game and he came to say well and I told him yesterday. We wanted to keep Caldwell Potter, but that’s the game we’re in,” Elliott said.
“It was a happy race for me, these are four wins in a row.”
From the runner-up Nicholls said, “He ran a race, right?
“It wasn’t easy with him all season, but mentally starting to get there, and that was by far his best run. Running in Wincanton the next day he did well and he starts Chill – today, because of this occasion, he is probably just as well.
“He settled and jumped absolutely brilliant, and as Harry said he had accelerated from the last trip to the line.
“In the end, his future is above the fences, I always said it, and anything he won over obstacles will be a bonus. He’s an exciting horse for the future, we’ll put him now and chase him in the fall.”
