Hayley Turner announced his departure from the saddle with immediate effect.
A 42 -year -old woman became the first female jockey to go to the winner of the One group in Britain when working with Dream Ahead to win in the July Cup in 2011, followed by another highest level on board Margot in Nunthorpe Stakes in York for the next month.
Turner, who won the spirit of Jura on Wednesday to win in Southwell, also said he was expecting his first child in October.
In his statement, Turner said, “I decided to retire that I was Jokejm, which follows my winner in Southwell, especially when I had the first ride on March 27, 2000.
“I am very excited to also announce that I have a child in October, everything is fine, which I have planned for the last two years. My family and I are all very excited.
“I would like to thank everyone who has supported me over the years, especially Michael Bell, David Simcock, Andrew Balding and Harry Eustace. I would also like to thank my agent Guy Jewell, who was my agent for most of my career.
“I look forward to the chapter of another life, but in the short term I will focus on a child.”
Turner was a pioneer for the female riders in the apartment, with her awards, including the first woman to run 100 winners in the calendar year in 2008 and the first European woman to attend 1,000 international winners in November 2023. She completed 1,000 in July. The British success.
The rider certainly enjoyed a lot of UPS, but during her career there was also some decline, especially he suffered serious head injuries in the Newmarket Gallops Fall in March 2009 and damage to her pelvis and vertebrae after falling in Doncaster in 2013.
Turner initially left the weighing room at the end of 2015 to embark on a media career, but returned to the saddle to go to her favorite SHERGAR CUP meeting in 2016, before she later decided to restore her career in France, where women’s riders were offered.
In the end, she returned to Britain and then enjoyed her best year when 48 winners rode in 2021, winning her star ride in recent seasons and won in Royal Ascot last year.
Turner and Bell enjoyed a lengthy partnership, Margot stressed, and the Newmarket staff welcomed her ability in the saddle, as well as her determination to make her ride.
He said “I am very glad to hear her great news and it’s so beautiful, kind, loving person and I’m pleased for her to be a mummy.
“We will go back on a long journey and have achieved a lot together and I am excited to get to their own conditions with some very happy personal news.
“We had some great days together, Margot won Nuntorpe that he was one of them. But I just remember her ride as an apprentice 7Lb when she barely had a winner and went against older jockeys and big names at the finish, and I don’t remember if I remember I thought” my God.
“She has always been in time and has always been smart and only a very good pattern for everyone, regardless of sex that wanted to stand well as jockey.
“Many thanks go to my owners who supported my decision to support her, and she kept the work very well and apparently derailed her several nasty falls, but it does not remove six, seven, eight great years we had together.”
Turner also established a fertile relationship with Simcock and included the glory of the group one with not only a dream forward, but also a dreamer that gave a few remarkable verdict when lifting Beverly D. Stakes in Arlington Park in 2012.
Simcock said, “Hayley was a great pleasure, he’s the right professional and he’s a great rider who is good in his work and never disappointed me, but most importantly, he’s just a really nice person.
“I am pleased for her and she will retire with anything that can do everything she can do, and now it’s on the next step of the family.
“We were lucky that we had some great days, dreaming in advance to be one, and I’m a dreamer, the other, but I just work with her daily, day out, and the use of other winners who are equally important, was also great.”
