Denny Hamlin needs overtime to win on Darlington Raceway

Biffle planned a weekly trip to the Bahamas when his phone began to go for people stuck in parts of Western North Carolina.

“I went to the hangar and the strength was out,” Biffle said. “We got the hangar open with dragging and pulled out the helicopter out. Once I got into the air, I realized what happened.”

Biffle then flew for the next 11 days from “Sunup to Sundown”.

“It was incredible,” Biffle said. “The first week was quite difficult.”

Biffle won the Myers Brothers Humanitarian Award for her work.
