John Higgins beat Mark Selby in the final of the Tour Championship
John Higgins won five films in a row to defeat Mark Selby 10-8 in the final of the tour championship for what he described as the best victory of his long career.
Selby had previously won seven pictures in a row to move into two victories, but Higgins rushed and limited his opponent to only 18 points in the last five films.
“It’s my best victory,” said Higgins, who ended four years of waiting for the title on the World Open ranking in China.

The battle between a pair of four times the world champions saw how they divided two images – Selby in the second break 135.
Higgins hit two breaks 102 and another of the 94, when he was caught in the afternoon session, led 5-1 before Selby hit the breaks 112 and 136 to complete the session.
He continued his dynamics to the evening, break 119 at the 13th film that took him 8-5 ahead.
But Higgins responded 110 by breaking the next time and made it to Parity before winning victories with breaks of 84 and 132.
The eighth and last century of the match was equal to the record for the final with the best of 19.
