Michael van Gerwen was forced to resign from the Premier League Darts meeting last week after he suffered a mad neck injury, according to Vincent van der Voort.
The triple world champion left nine Night in Berlin in Berlin before his quarterfinals against Gerwyn Price.
“Michael was injured in the afternoon, it was really unfortunate,” said veteran Darts van der voort, who is van Gerwen a friend, Darts running on Podcast.
“He tried on some shirts for his sponsor, and as soon as he puts it on, he said that something had not felt right. He could barely move his neck.”
Dutch Van der Voort added: “He went to a physiotherapist, had a massage, even took muscle relaxants.
“He gave it, but it just didn’t happen. In the end we returned to the hotel, packed up and went home. I was back to 2:00.”
The injury, which was also excluded by van Gerwen from the international arrows open in Ries, deepened its prospects for qualifying for the Playoffs Premier League, when Stephen Bunting broke the duck in the tournament.
Van Gerwen sits third in the table with one point that separates it and the chasing package, although victory at night 10 in Manchester – lives on Sky Sports – can get your campaign back on the track.
