Jimmy White maintained hope of qualifying for the Snooker World Championship
Veteran Jimmy White has maintained his hopes for qualifications for the Snooker World Championship for the first time since 2006 with the victory of nail biting, while 14 -year -old Michal Szubarczyk was eliminated.
The veteran six-time finalist, who turns for 63 years next month, was 7-3 down against Anton Kazakov, Ukrainian, just after the evening meeting, but threw six pictures in the 126- break to put him on the brink of victory.
Kazakov, who is 42 years younger at the age of 20, won two more to establish a final referee, although he had only two breaks over 50 years in the match.
White pulled out a 36-point lead with 35 points remaining on the table, but four consecutive fouls gave Kazak’s initiative.
The Ukrainian was unable to take full advantage of the benefits and White finally pulled the colors to win at 1.20 in the morning.
In the afternoon White sessions have suffered a rare indignation of the loss of the third frame on “three so -so -mele rules”, which pays when a player cannot intervene the intended ball on three consecutive occasions when he has a clear look at him and is not snookered.
