The triple Olympic champion Adam Peatty announced his intention to compete at 2028 games in Los Angeles after adding 50 meters of breast to the swimming program.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) officially approved the inclusion of six new events for LA28 – men’s and female 50m backstroke, breast and butterfly.
Peat is a triple world and a four -time European champion in 50m breast.
Thirty -year -old published on Instagram: “To @la28games have just been added 50m sprint events, which confirms my attempt to be at my fourth Olympic Games.
“This is the best result for our incredible sport and allows more people to be part of it and stay in it much longer. Thank you @world_aquatics for this amazing decision.
“I feel good about these three years.”
Peata won the 100m Olympic title Breaststroke on the Rio 2016 debut before retaining it at Tokyo 2020, in addition to the 4x100m mixed gold gold in Japan.

The Los Angeles 2028 is set to contain more female athletes than men at an orientation moment for the Olympic Games.
A total of 10,500 athletes will compete for 31 sports in the initial program – as well as Paris 2024.
With gender equality, the key consideration of IOC on Wednesday announced the approved quota of 5 333 seats for women and 5 167 for men.
In five new sports designed by the La28 organizational committee and supported by IOC – baseball/softball, cricket T20, flagship football, lacrosse and squash – there will be 322 places for athletes and 376 for male competitors.
For the first time in Olympic history, all team sports will have at least the same number of female teams as male teams.
Two female teams have been added to the Water Polo program, which made it 12 for each sex, while other categories of women for weight ensure gender parity in the box.
Meanwhile, the women’s football competition will increase from 12 to 16 teams, with the male tournament to decrease from 16 to 12.
