After the opening round of Masters, Justin Rose grabbed an early lead when Rory McILroy saw his hope Grand Slam suffered from a great failure of the nightmare in Augusta National.
Rose charged the ranking with eight birds in a stunning seven-below 65, with his only shot a shot coming to the last hole, giving the former world a NO 1 commanding three-shot advantage over Scott Scheffer, Ludvig Åberg and Corey Conners.
Scheffler opened his title defense with Bogey without Bogey 68, and Conners lit three of the last four holes to get to four under, while last year’s finalist Åberg made him a three -way tie for a second after the final opening.
McIlroy – was looking for the first main victory since 2014 – was on the same score with four holes remaining since its opening round, only on the card two double bogey in three hole sections – on the 15th and 17th. – Stutter to level 72.
World 2 is seven strokes back and outside the TOP 25, seventh year in a row, which was six or more after the start, with the Northern IR now facing the battle uphill to claim the victory needed to complete the career big slam.
