Former Real Madrid, Dutch coach Leo Berehakker dies at the age of 82


Former Real Madrid and Netherlands Coach Leo Beehakker died at the age of 82, Laliga said on Thursday.

The Dutch also trained clubs like Feyenoord and Ajax as well as Saudi Arabia, Trinidad and Tobago and Poland National teams.

He led Ajax to the Eredivisie title in the 1979-80 and 1989-90 seasons before winning Dutch top-years with Feyenoord in 1998-99.

However, the most successful Stint Berehakker came in Madrid, where he won three Laliga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Supercopa trophies.

“Real Madrid, its President and the Board of Directors, is deeply saddened by the death of Leo Beehakker, the legendary coach Real Madrid, who led white between 1986 and 1989 and in 1992,” the Spanish party said in a statement.

“Real Madrid would like to express his condolences and affection for his family, clubs and loved ones.

“Leo Beehakker died at the age of 82. Real Madrid expands condolences to all Madridists. May rest in peace.”
