Nathan Aspinall believes he has proved anyone who doubted his inclusion in the Premier League, who was wrong with his victory in Manchester, after he admitted that he almost called it five weeks ago.
Stockport Man Aspinall has made his home advantage in Manchester as he fought with the first night victory of his Premier League campaign from 2025, defeated Rob Cross, Michaela van Gerwen and then Luke Humphries on the way.
The victory moves to the fourth place in the table, but at 15 points with van Gerwen, giving it to the playoffs because of its one-off success compared to any for the Dutchman.
The victory, even though it is monumental for being at home for aspinall, is also crucial for “ASP” because he believes that anyone who has questioned his intention into the Premier League was wrong – like Mike de Decker and Dave Chisnall.
Since then he has jumped into the world 7 with a victory on a European tour and the night victory in Manchester continues his good running form.
However, he did not come without adversity, and aspinalll admitted that he was talking about “not doing it” with his wife five weeks ago when he continues to fight Dartitis.
“I have some problems and sometimes it doesn’t look nice on TV, or anything, but I have found a way to deal with it. It affects me, but I win and win tournaments and it is one of them, either stop and go home, or you own it and do it part of the game.
“And you know what? I’m so happy. I’m in a really good place. I win. And you know what? Five weeks ago. Well, I really fought. I said Kirstie (Aspinal’s wife).
“I went through an absolutely terrible two years. I’m a warrior, I’m a warrior.
“I will never give up, and these last three weeks have proven why.
“Premier League always brings me the best. I’m a very, very lazy boy at home. I don’t practice, so every Thursday evening I play the best players in the world and it just improves my game and that’s what it does.”
Despite the rise and falls, Aspinall thinks that he has come to the other side and shows why he is now considered “one of the best players in the world”.
“I feel I should be in the Premier League. Everyone knows deeply why they put me in the Premier League and I showed my value – I did it better.
“When I am a confident player when a good scoring, there are not many people in the world of the arrows that could beat me. I will take so much confidence.”
