Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will play on Friday for the associated company AHL franchises, for his first professional game in for nearly three years.
The AHL AHL AHL AHL team, Colorado Eagles, announced after the morning skates that Landeskog would play in his game against Henderson Silver Knights, ALL for AHL for Vegas Golden Knights.
On Wednesday, the avalanche sent Landeskog to the eagles For a conditioning stint. Landeskog has spent the last few days with Eagles who play a little more than an hour in Loveland in Colorado, in an effort to be ready to win their fourth Stanley Cup.
The last Landeskog performance came in the 6 Stanley Cup finals in the game. He led an avalanche to the third championship in the club’s history. Then he would miss the whole season 2022-23 with his knee injury and then in May 2023 underwent operations of the cartilage of the knee. Landeskog would then miss the whole season 2023-24.
The 32-year-old has traveled with the team in recent years and has been on the ice from the team. This season, however, led to Landeskog gradually spent more time training with an avalanche, which further contributed to the belief that it could be part of their plans Play -off.
AVS coach Jared Bednar told reporters after training on Friday that they would watch Landeskog’s progress and that there were no plans that play against the silver knights. If the AVS wanted an extended view of Landeskog, they would have this option because Eagles have four more games before their regular season will end next Saturday.
Getting Landeskog back to the playoffs would potentially provide an avalanche not only with their captain, but a two-way wing that gives them six more and/or nine options depending on how they use it.
Entry to Friday was an avalanche (48-28-4) third in the ranking of the central division with two road games remaining against Los Angeles Kings Saturday before the completion of the regular season on Sunday against Anaheim Ducks.
