Portland – Stephen Curry worsened his real injury to his thumb, but he could play it and say that he will be prepared for the Sunday major final of the regular season against Clippers.
Curry hit his thumb on his shooting hand and left with 1:59 remaining in the first quarter of the victory of 103-86 over Trail Blazers in Portland. Curry passed the X -ray on his thumb and the results were negative. He returned and played in the second and third neighborhoods before sitting fourth with a warriors of up to 27 in the neighborhood.
Curry dealt with painful thumb injuries in January. He says that this latest pulsating thumb problem will not prevent him from facing Clippers in a critical game at Chase Center.
“From what I know, just a deterioration,” Curry said about his thumb injury. “The same (as an earlier injury of the thumb), but hopefully it was nothing serious.
He added, “I know it just hurts, but I’ll be fine.”
Curry ended with 14 points, five rebounds and five assists in 27 minutes. Overall he shot 6: 14 and said that the problem of his thumb influenced his shooting “a little” after he had it glued.
“Because it was freshly ringing, new pain,” Curry said. “But I don’t think it will take too long.”
Warriors will need their franchise stellar feeling as fine as possible on Sunday. The winner between Warriors and Clippers will ensure a place in the best six at the Western Conference and a series of playoffs.
“I don’t want to be too dramatic,” Curry said as he asked what Sunday he would be. “It should be like a kind of vibration of game 7. You win and control your destiny on a guaranteed series Play -off. If you lose, you throw cubes.”
Warriors cannot drop by less than seventh place and playing with a loss. Clippers can end up fourth, fifth or low as the seventh.
