After showing what seemed to be dominant at the whole time in Sakhir, the leaders of the McLaren Championship were heavy favorite to lock the front row of the grid for the Sunday race.
Their advantage was not proven that they once spoken on the qualification because the conditions were cooled into the Bahrain evening and the opponents closed, but while Piastri still looked strong all the time and properly claimed the pole, Norris eventually trapped four tenths of the second slower than the sister and qualified for three.
“I didn’t even go a tenth faster (on his second round Q3),” said the deposited Norris Sky Sports F1.
“I’m not just fast enough.”
Norris, who kept all his answers in his post-qualifying interview with the disappointment of the result, pointed to himself and said “here” when he asked where and why the meeting went wrong.

The leader of the Norris Championship will now unexpectedly start the five -drivers race – George Russell, Charles Leclerc, Kimi Antonelli and the surprise of the top five Pierre Gasly – among themselves and Piastrim, watching British by 10 points in the ranking.
Max Verstappen, who is only one point behind Norris last week after his victory before McLarens in Japan, begins one place behind Norris in seventh place, although Red Bull lasts a difficult weekend on the track.
“It’s just another day,” Norris said as he asked about his Sunday prospects out of the sixth.
