He became the fourth player in the NHL history and first won the cup for three years in a row with two teams since 1964. He completes his career with 126 goals and 197 assists in 848 games in a regular season, and also plays for Edmonton, New Jersey, Minnesota and Boston.
“I was lucky to do what I love to live for a long time,” Maroon said. “When I look back at my career, when it’s all done, I look back at the bad times I went through in Philly, where I got me where I am today.”
Maroon left the opportunity to work in hockey on the road, but he wasn’t ready to think about it.
“I’ve been focusing on my family since then,” he said. “My wife is payable every day. So let’s focus on it, focus on returning back to Tampa, settling and kind of digestion and what is our next step.”
