Gabon forward Aaron Boupendza The Gabones Football Federation (Fegafoot) died after the fall of the 11th floor of the building in China. He was 28.
Boupendza, who joined Zhejiang FC early this year, was in good shape with four goals in six matches. Previously spent time with Fc cincinnati in MLSWhere he helped them win the Eastern Conference and the Shield of supporters before his contract in 2024.
“At the age of 28, Boupendza remembers as a great attacker who left a permanent impression on the African cup of nations in Cameroon (in 2022),” Fegafoot said in a statement.
“The Gabones striker, who was trained at CF Mounana and Bordeaux in France, joined the Chinese league after a short magic in Romania.
“Fegafoot and the Gaboness Family Family offer their sincere condolences to their biological family in this difficult time.”
Authorities in China started an investigation to see if autumn was an accident, suicide or fouls, reported reports in the media in Romania.
There was no official confirmation for the cause of death.
“It is with great sadness to learn about the tragic death of Aaron Boupendza, a talented center forward, which brought honor to Gabon’s football,” said President Gabon Brice Oligui Nguma. “I offer my sincere condolences to my family and friends. May God bless his soul.”
The attacker played for several clubs in France, Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
