Toronto – Atlanta Braves right -handed Spencer steps allowed two runs and five hits in five or more shifts in his return to the hill against Toronto Blue Jays Wednesday afternoon.
With his first big league performance in 376 days due to surgery to repair ulnar collateral ligament in the right elbow, Strider hit five, one went and hit the dough in 3-1 loss. He threw 97 playgrounds, 58 for strikes.
Blue Jays Rightman Chris Bassitt (2-0) struck 10 seasons and allowed three hits-all singles- when Toronto set a franchise record in one game with 19 blows. Bassitt reduced its era to 0.77 to four starts.
Vladimir Guerrero JR. He had two out of five interventions outside the strider, including the single RBI in the third shift and solo home run to the second deck on a slider full of number in the sixth. Homer-voohon 412 stop-with Guerrero’s first season.
“I didn’t do a good job for me to do two blows,” Stider said. “I felt as if my off-speed (playground) had no much belief, a lot of consistency. This makes it difficult.”
Stider followed by walking Anthony Santanderand manager Braves Brian Snitker immediately replaced Strider with left -wing Dylan Lee.
“My work is not to go back and have a moment and everything,” Stider said. “I look at it like that. I’m here to help the team.”
Stider struck Bo Bichette On three playgrounds that start the game. His most difficult playground was in the first fast ball 98 mph to Guerrero.
Stider struck Myles straw to second and third place to finish second and third place.
“It is extremely important for our club and especially for our rotation,” Socer said. “It’s good to have him back. I think he’s stronger when he’s out there. He has some moxia and competitiveness. He’ll be fine.”
The Braves activated Stider from a wounded list on Wednesday morning and voted right -handers Reliever Zach Thompson Triple-a.
Atlanta has left 5-6 since the beginning of 0-7 and has to win a back-to-back game. Braves are on the 2-11 road.
“We’re not in a great position at the moment,” Stider said. “That’s all right. It’s too early in the season. People want us to doubt, that’s great. Bring it.”
Stider’s return could give Braves a large elevator. In 2023 he went 20-5 with 3.86 Era, ended with the main league best 281 strikes in 186⅔ shifts and fourth in the NL Cy Young Award voting.
Stider, 26, last appeared in large companies 5th April 2024, against Diamondbacks in Atlanta. Last season he performed two starts before he underwent surgery.
Stider struck 13 in 5⅓ shifts in the dominant rehabilitation in Triple-A last Thursday, allowing one run and three hits. He threw 90 courses, 62 for strikes and reached 97 mph with his fastball.
