Chief coach Hull Kr Willie Peters knows that there is no “other motivation” on Friday when playing Hull FC’s opponents on Friday.
The Peters Robins flew high in the Super League after the six games were won by the Super League Season 2025 after an incredible run.
However, they were brought back to the ground on a domestic lawn at a loss of 28-12 to ruin Wigan champions last week, which reminded Hulla KR that the competition had a long way.
Meanwhile, Hull FC bounced off his loss of the Challenge Cup Derby with a declaration of 28-16 victories over Warrington Wolves, which won the best place on Friday from his enemies with victory.
While Hull Kr is in Derby Tally 1-0 this season, Black and Whites have a chance to ask for the best place from their old enemy and avenge their cup ascent at the biggest stages.
With everything in the game, Peters believe that his players will be more motivated than ever, and if not, they won’t be in the Robins shirt in the future.
“I think it’s quite easy mentally (get players going to the derby). You don’t have to motivate too much to get them to go to these types of games, the motivation will be there,” Peters said.
“The atmosphere was electric at the MK stadium a few weeks ago and this week it will be huge.
“It is obvious that they are coming from behind a great victory (vs Warrington), so we know what we expect in terms of the atmosphere.
“As a coach, you don’t have to motivate players this week because you think they are already motivated, which they will.
“If we win, we will remain the tip of the Super League, if FC wins, they can go upstairs.
“But it’s not about it, it’s a derby. If players are looking for motivation this week, I won’t choose them if they are looking for motivation this week.”
While Hull Kr has come Trumps in this victory 32-16 Challenge Cup, Peters know that the party of John Cartwrighta will always be a “big game” and will have the same attitude that will come on Friday.
“They are a team that will not disappear. They were in each individual game,” Peers added.
“Apparently we got with it and got into a good lead, but they fought back and went back to the game.
“Then a week after a very good Warrington team play in their place and have a good victory.
“I knew in advance that they had a lot of experience, they had big players of games, so there’s not much more I learned because I already knew and respect what we had before we played, and I respect what they have done since.
“Every derby regardless of the ladder position is always an important game in the calendar and we look forward to it.”
