Max Verstappen says he is focusing on helping Red Bull improvement because he said he didn’t know why Helmut Marko suggested that he was “great concern” about the future of the World Champion.
Speculation around Future Red Bull from Verstappen was rediscent this week when team advisor Marko spoke to Sky Germany after their fight on the last Sunday Bahrain GP, where Verstappen finished sixth, he said he was afraid that a four -time champion could leave if they failed to improve their car.
The Red Bull Verstappen contract lasts for another three years by the end of 2028, but it is generally believed that it contains a performance clauses that could theoretically allow earlier departure under certain circumstances.
But he asked Marko’s comments at Thursday’s press conference of drivers before this weekend Saudi Arab Grand Prix, Verstappen said:
“Bahrain wasn’t a great weekend for us. I think we were all disappointed with it. We’re just trying to improve the car, come up with new ideas on how to try the car. The competition is heavy.
And in a playful answer, when he asked why Marko did his notes, Verstappen replied: “I just focus on comment, focus on driving, and then don’t have to think about any other scenarios.”
Verstappen, who has regularly connected with Mercedes and Aston Martin over the last 12 months, said about speculation: “Many people talk about it except me.
“I just want to concentrate on my car, work with people in the team. That’s the only thing I think about in F1 at the moment. I’m very relaxed.”
