The Mason Lino Drop’s goal showed the difference when Wakefield Trinity came up with a 13-12 victory over Castleford Tigers in opponents on the DIY Kitchens Stadium bikes.
Three unreloped attempts gave Castleford a lead after 40 minutes, Jason Qareqare Double plus Sam Wood efforts that visitors to the top.
Wakefield, however, hit back in the second 40 to Harvey Smith and Max Jowitt, who tried, Jowitt converted both to bring the score to 12-12.
The defining moment then came, when Lino sent through a one -time indicator in the 76th minute, the victory was remarkably Wakefield’s first home victory in the West Yorkshire derby since September 2013 because their return to Super League is still gaining strength.
The victory is also Wakefield’s first home lawn in 2025 and adds to victories against Leeds Rhinos, Warrington Wolves and Leigh Leopards.

In what is always intense derby, Castleford has opened scoring about what has always been a happy hunting country, it went 100 meters from Try Line to try a line for a sensational opening score, Qarereqare shows its speed for the advantage of 4-0.
The attempt seemed to awakened Wakefield and brought them opportunities to score back Max Jowitt and Captain Mike McMeeken, but couldn’t turn them into points.

The mistakes then cost the position of the home outfit, for which Castleford made them pay; The last tool of the kick was collected by wood when he raised the highest in the 28th minute to expand his advantage to lead 8-0.

Castleford had the first goal attempt in the 72 minute, but Milnes sent it wide, Wakefield’s Lino sent one only four minutes later out of 15 meters, seeing his party rolling a 12-point deficit to take the lead.
He managed to hang this management until Hooter has secured his first victory in home soil in 12 years.

“It was hard to watch, we were quite poor in the first half, Castleford was excellent and raised us under pressure. I don’t think we managed it well.
“We found our way back, it took us a long time. We found an attempt that gave us a little hope. When I thought we did it, I’ll take it.
“We found a way to win. It was an incredible fun for neutral, but it was quite difficult for a coach to watch.”

“It’s disappointing, the boys work incredibly hard, they were lively, committed to death. We were still scrapped, I am really proud, but we did not get the result. That’s what it hurts about.
“Wakefield’s property in the second half caught up with us a little. We have a lot we can work on, but we can take the cost of this game. We only have to show it every week.”
