Gerwyn Price killed Thursday’s Premier League Darts Night 11 in Rotterdam as “unnecessary”, claiming that “arrows were blowing everywhere because of the design.
Welshman, who dropped 6-3 in Nathan Aspinal in the quarterfinals, continued that PDC should look elsewhere in the future.
Disclosure InstagramPrice said, “Gutted for himself, gutted for anyone who supports me. I am so sorry, but this week was unnecessary and we will move to next week.
“The arrows blowing everywhere, and on the leg that was lucky, I knew it was unnecessary. And where I was in the league after vital points, that’s not what I wanted.
“Hopefully, PDC will stop coming and looking for alternative places. It’s not good for players, not good for fans and it’s not good for people who like a bet.
“Until next week we will become playing under decent conditions. And if you think it’s the same for both players, you are just like a daft as you look.
“How can it be different for each player? Eerrrrrrm heavier arrows, flight size flights, longer stems, stronger flights, stronger throw.
“Nathan played better and treated the conditions much better. I play the best arrows I played for months/years, just forget it and move. See you in Munich.”
PDC chiefs acknowledged the situation in their statement and stated: “We worked hard with the place to minimize the effect of any air movement that was recognized by a number of players in today’s event, stating that the conditions have improved from previous years.”
When he talked about the proposal last year, Van Gerwen said:
“They made large curtains that would watch between them because this arena is divided into two sides, lower and upper, in between, you can feel the move towards it. But they close one side, hoping to leave.
“At least they do something against him. Sometimes you can’t give it a finger. It’s hard, but at least they’re working on it.”
