Ben Stokes: England Captain for Miss Early Rounds of County Championship Season with Durham when recovering from injury | Cricket news

England Captain Ben Stokes will not play any role in the early stages of the regional championship with Durham as he still recover from hamstrings injuries.

Stokes makes a strong progress of the problem that bowling suffered on a test tour in New Zealand at the end of last year and trained with his region after the operation.

The 33-year-old completed the shuttle in Durham’s Media Day on Monday and Chester-Le-Street Coach Ryan Campbell says that the versatile “will do everything it will” to be suitable for the English introductory test of summer, against Zimbabwe in Trent Bridge from May 22.

Stokes Red-Ball then welcomed India for a series of five matches from 20 June before going to Australia on the ashes between November and January.

Stokes recently introduced his fitness in the Instagram video and emphasized a big step in his recovery

Campbell also expects the English sailor Brydon Cars to be missing for Durham when he fights from the tip injury that pushed him out of the masters trophy in February and March.

He said, “At this stage, they are unlikely to play for us. It is expected to be zero – anything else is another bonus. The fact is that it has to get to the time when the test matches start.

“What we know about hundreds is that he’s almost every day he’s working. The guy had a hamstring operation and lifted weights that I couldn’t believe.

“He builds a bar wherever it is. It’s so hardworking block and will do everything that is needed to be in operation for England, which is really exciting for England fans.

“For Durham fans, if he accidentally plays a game or two on the way, great. If not, I know he will check the score and ring me to tell me what we should and should not do.”
