Cindy Ngamba will undergo surgery because he is trying to return to full training later in the year.
Ngamba played last summer in Paris 2024 and became the first athlete of a refugee to have ever won the Olympic medal when she secured the bronze of middle weight in Roland Garros.
Last month she was ready to make her debut on her professional boxing on a historic account for all women in Royal Albert Hall.
But just night before weighing, she was forced to resign from her eight -wheel with Kirstie Bavington, a devastating wound for a potential new star in Pro sport.
She revealed that she would need surgery, but expects a positive result.
“Sometimes the journey takes unexpected turns,” Ngamba wrote in a post on social media.
“I was broken with my heart not to make my professional debut on March 7th. A routine medical doctor revealed a problem that prevented me from the competition.

“In the coming weeks, I will be a surgery to axle things and later in the year I will return to full training.”
She added: “This is just a failure, not the end of the road. The best chapters are yet to come.
“Thank you all for your support, I will return to the event soon … stronger, sharper and ready to leave your brand.
“Always stay positive.”
