Palm Beach, FLA. – New York Jets Wooda chairman Johnson, the only owner who received the F class on the annual team reports on the NFL Association players, rejected the findings on Monday and described the survey “absolutely false”.
Johnson said he appreciated his relations with players and their opinions, but questioned the integrity of the vote. When asked what was fake, he answered, “The whole thing.”
In the latest 1,695 survey, they rated their teams in different categories. The results were issued on 26 February. NFLPA was critical of the highest leadership and Jets culture.
Johnson, spoke to reporters at the annual league meeting, took the problem “As they gathered information (A), who gathered from. (It) was supposed to be with the league.
“And that was in my opinion violated. I’ll leave it, but I think there are a lot of owners who looked at this survey and said it wasn’t fair, it’s not balanced, it’s not every player, it’s not even for players.”
The overall Jets ranking, based on stamps in 11 categories, was 29. – Drop of 21 in 2023.
“We want to improve every day in every category,” Johnson said. “We want to be in everything.
NFLPA explains the methodology on its website and stated that it has used research experts from an independent group to provide instructions for proven survey procedures. It was served from August 26 to November 20, 2024 and was performed online and anonymously. Access to the vote was provided to each player at the time of the survey.
Although he questioned the results, Johnson said he would try to create better communication with players. The long -time owner, strongly criticized fans and the media for the bitterly disappointed season of the 2024 team, said in an interview in January that he would try to improve.
“If (players) are bored or bored with what the place looks like, let me know,” he said. “I can’t do anything if they don’t tell me, so I think we’ll have much better communication with players in terms of what they look at every day. Because if I looked at the same thing every day, I could get bored with it too.”
Johnson said he did not believe that the unflattering news card affects the team’s ability to attract free agents. He stressed that “the essence of the game is players. That’s what we can all about.
Jets missed the play -off for 14. A straight year, a dysfunctional season that saw that Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas fired as a coach and CEO. Another victim was Quarterback Aaron Rodgerswhich was released at the beginning of this month.
“Aaron (Glenn, New Coach) and CEO decided to be time to move on,” Johnson said, commenting on Rodgers’s Oster for the first time. “The experiment was a good experiment to bring it, but it just didn’t work as you see. I have a lot of respect for Aaron Rodgers. He’s a great player, Hall of Famer. I’m sorry that it didn’t work but we decided.
Johnson confirmed the Sports Magazine report, which said Jets offered voluntary purchases of approximately 170 of their 250 employees. The deadline for admission was Monday. There will be no release, Jets said. Johnson said the team decided to offer a purchase, partly to help improve culture.
“We thought it was a good time to give everyone a chance to reconsider what they were doing in their lives,” he said. “We want people who are all-in, 100 percent of what the plan is, what we try to do on the football side. They must be exactly the same on the business side. It must be together for our public and serve our players in a much more innovative way than we have.”
