The New Orleans Pelicans announced on Monday that forward Zion Williamson and the guard Cj mccollum Willl lacks the rest of the season 2024-25 due to their respective injuries.
The announcement came the day after Pelicans beat Charlotte Hornets 98-94 without Williamson (rear bone bruising) and McCollum (bruising on the right leg) in the assembly.
Williamson’s latest failure ensures that the former total selection No. 1 will play 30 games or less in six years. A 24 -year -old man suffered a lower back injury during the autumn 19th March in Minnesota and sat down from New Orleans of five more games. During his eight performances before Williamson’s injury, he recorded his first two career three times.
New Orleans announced that Williamson’s rehabilitation plan would consist of rest and treatment.
Among the players who have debuted since 1997-98, Williamson ranks as the only one in an average of 15 or more, while in each of the first five seasons he played, according to ESPN research, shoots at least 55% of the field. But during Williamson’s five seasons, he lacked more games (258) than he played (214).
The double All-Star completes the season on average 24.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.3 assistance with 1.2 steaks.
Meanwhile, McCollum suffered injuries on March 23 in Detroit during a 40-point power that resulted in a loss of Pelicans. Like Williamson, the guard will follow the rehabilitation program, which consists of treatment and rest, according to the team.
None of the three contemporary pelicans who average 20 points per game or more could complete the season with the club. This list includes Williamson, Trey Murphy III (Torn Labrum) and McCollum.
New Orleans (21-54) currently owns the fourth worst record in the NBA and in 2024-25 used 41 different starting sets due to many injuries for key players such as Williamson, McCollum, Murphy, Dejounte Murray and Herbert Jones.
