Mikaela Mayer and Derby’s Sandy Ryan meet in the American World WBO WBO Welterweight in Las Vegas, live on Sky Sports ActionIn the early morning hours of Sunday morning.
Mayer defeated Ryan in New York last year to win the World Championship. Their rivalry grew only wildly after the bizarre attack on the color disrupted Ryan before the first fight and Mayer’s former coach Kay Koroma began working with Ryan.
Their last year’s fight was close and exciting. The same is expected this weekend when they meet again, live on Sky Sports Action from midnight on Sunday morning.
Elite fighters gave predictions to retaliation.
Classa Shields, three -color world champion and double Olympic gold medalist, said Sky Sports: “Sandy was a little mentally turned off (in) the first fight and Mikael was just on and very motivated.
“I think Sandy is very strong, but I think Mikala has used her angles very well and also hit Sandy with several really good shots that the first fight.”
She added: “The fight was close, but I think it was the angles that won Mikael Fight.
“I love Sandy, I love Mikala. But Mikala is my sister, I give her all the will in the world and hopefully she can finish this job.”
Katie Taylor, a two -color master and Olympic gold medalist, regularly SPARD Ryan and supports the British to win.
“It’s anyone who wants it most,” Taylor said. “I think Sandy is just a versatile complete fighter. He’s an amazing fighter, an amazing boxer. He’s so versatile. Her striking is fantastic, her counterpoint is fantastic.
“I shared bikes and sparring wheels with her. It’s a huge reason why I also won the match against Chantelle Cameron. Just an amazing part of my preparation and I’m always so grateful for the bikes that gave me. So it’s just a versatile complete fighter.
“When he’s in shape, I think no one will beat her on a combat night.”
Lauren Price, the ruling WBA, WBC and IBF Welterweight World Champion and the Olympic Golden Medalist, are determined to fight the winner of Mayer-ryan for an undisputed £ 147 championship.
“I think it’s a very interesting fight. I think it will be a great fight like the last one. I think it will be close. I think it will go for points and I will choose Mayer as a winner,” Price said.
“I just think that even though Sandy is a great boxer, he can sometimes get into the fighting. Because of the nature of the fight – they don’t like each other.
“Mayer is a better fighter of both work and I think Sandy will get into it and I think Mayer will come to the top.”
